Love letters

Synopsis

The show centers on just two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepiece Ladd III and their lifelong relationship.

 

 Using the epistolary form sometimes found in novels, they sit side by side at tables and read their correspondence to each other – in which they discuss the hopes and ambitions, dreams and victories, disappointments  and defeats – that have passed between them throughout their separated lives. 

The powerful ending, when each realizes that what they have in essence been writing all these years were love letters, makes for an amazing and intriguing evening of theatre

The cast and its director

 

This thoughtful and touching production features a cast of very talented young students of the Lycée Pardailhan (mostly students of classes of Premières and Terminales).            

 

Each couple plays the characters at different periods of their lives.         

 

The students volunteered for this performance, eager to take up the challenge of acting in English. Their teacher, Véronique Hespert directs this play.

A brief presentation of the English Drama Club of Pardailhan High 

 

The club was created this year in our school. The project was created by V. Hespert, English teacher at Pardailhan and  sponsored by our Principal Pierre Martin.

 This club is optional and is proposed to the entire school community. This year 9 students joined the club and rehearsed throughout the school year on wednesday afternoons to perform in front of you tonight.
